Kinetiq Joins the C2PA Alliance to Strengthen Global Content Verification and Fight Misinformation

Kinetiq’s Teletrax watermarking technology enhances video authentication and media transparency amid rising AI-generated content.

PHILADELPHIA – March 4, 2025 — Kinetiq, the AI-powered platform unifying global media intelligence into actionable insights, today announced that its Teletrax watermark technology is now an officially supported watermarking technology for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) standards. This development strengthens video content authentication, providing publishers, creators, and content owners with a powerful tool to detect and mitigate content manipulation.

The C2PA, a coalition formed by industry leaders including Adobe, Arm, Intel, Microsoft, and Truepic, is dedicated to establishing technical standards to address the growing issue of misleading online information. Through its open standards, C2PA enables the certification of media provenance by using encrypted manifests that document a piece of content’s origin, context, and history.

Kinetiq’s Teletrax watermarking technology, which employs an imperceptible digital watermarking technique, plays a key role in this effort by enabling content verification and helping combat tampering and metadata stripping for video content. By embedding a unique, metadata-linked watermark into each second of video, the Teletrax watermark empowers news agencies and content owners to authenticate millions of hours of distributed content across broadcast, digital, and social media platforms.

“The rise of AI-generated content has introduced new challenges in distinguishing real from manipulated media,” said Kevin Kohn, President and CEO of Kinetiq. “By integrating Teletrax watermarking technology with C2PA standards, we are reinforcing our commitment to media transparency and trust—ensuring that global audiences, platforms, and publishers can trust the authenticity of the content they consume and share.”

For decades, leading news agencies—including AP, Reuters, AFP, and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the world’s largest alliance of public service media—have embedded Kinetiq’s Teletrax watermark into their video content. As a result, Teletrax is now integrated across more than 25 million news assets, with over a million new assets added each year.

The Teletrax network, which monitors over 6,000 TV and social media outlets, detects more than 60 million news assets annually. Recognizing the growing threat of misinformation, news agencies and broadcasters that have long relied on watermarking for content tracking view C2PA as a critical advancement in media authenticity and transparency.
